Yes, fighters do care too much about money. But I don't think this is the case, it seems he has been offered a bad deal and is rightly turning it down, he got 25% last time ÂŁ600k apparently, and now he is being offered double, which will probably be nearer 20% this time. If he was being unreasonable (Hearn said he wasn't) then I would understand, but to turn down a seemingly bad offer is not unreasonable.

From what I've heard, it seems he just wants a better deal than last time without asking for an obscene amount. But I could be wrong, it just seems this statement is a good bit of PR from Froch so he can duck the rematch for now.
True you can't 100% trust anything from statements from fighters/promoters, i just hope the fight happens and if you think about the money it will generate i can't see it not happening. Groves will accept a slightly better offer and it will be made would be my guess but who knows ha.

Grobes won't make the ammout of money sv anyone else and i can't see Froch vs Chavez being PPV in the states to be honest.

It's hilarious people think he should accept the offer. Matchroom are desperate for the fight.
Think about the casuals reaction. BBC Sport tweeted the link, and loads of people were shocked and surprised he turned it down, thinking Groves was avoiding the rematch, that's why I think Groves needs to get his own statement out soon.

Yep, its clever from Froch (or his team) and makes him look like he isn't avoiding the Groves rematch and it makes it look like Groves was all talk about the rematch.

Embarrassing how much people are riding Groves' dick in here, the same people who were claiming Froch was ducking yesterday are here today claiming groves is right to turn down double what he earned in the last fight while still bitching about Froch.:patsch

Hearn will make an improved offer. There's too much money at stake, time for fast car to cash out on Froch and sign groves as his next PPV 'star'.
Hearn would rather make Chavez. No guarantee whatsoever that Groves signs with him and at least in Froch he's got a chance to make some money off Froch's ass before he fights Groves.

If Groves wants the fight badly enough, he should take it.

I find it funny how Froch gets criticised for not offering the fight and then when he does, he gets criticised anyway
Oh yeah, let me just take 2M while you take 7M. No problem.

England love losers, that is why they are behind Groves and not the "winner" Froch. "wronged" Underdog and all that BS has turned Groves into a fan favorite it would seem. Groves wants more money because in all likelihood Froch will perform better in the rematch and not get badly dropped in the first round this time. Groves wants big money for a 2nd loss in a row.

Exactly. Like I said earlier, this all smacks of posturing, just trying to squeeze the last few ÂŁ's from the deal, on both sides I might add. All adds to the drama, especially as Froch is now a full on villain.

You can't be serious. The Hearn's are businessmen, they will chase the money, which is in the Groves rematch. If Carl doesn't want in then it's Chavez.

Why wouldn't Groves sign with Hearn? So he's going to turn down being a Sky PPV fighter to fight on Boxnation, nobody in there right mind would do that.
