I have just been reading through this thread and noticed this again. Mate, you're like Wilder's PR agent. You kept saying that the Hearn offer to Wilder was just Hearn's word, until I linked you the Wilder Instagram post that explicitly states he was offered £3 million for Whyte, but wants more. That translates to $4 million not including TV money.

Now you're suggesting the $7 million is not from Wilder. You're a good poster, but come on. You're sat on the internet, google it.

OK Strike thanks for that and fair enough. My original post which you quoted was to @Rob so I guess thats 2 of you I have to concede to. However it just looks like he wants Joshua and not Whyte. Don't know whether he saw it last night but I can't see Dillan striking any fear into his heart. But now Ive seen that Im gonna give best. Him and AJ has got to happen,theres hardly anybody else. I could see Whyte getting Parker now,but I don't know whether the business last time will stop them from wanting to come here again. For me Hugh did nothing to suggest he'd won and justify all the hullabaloo about the decision.

I DID express my doubts about us seeing Allen at all throughout. 4 different opponents mentioned and he actually boxed nobody. As people were saying they wasted too much time talking about AJ. Stuff thats all been said before. I think they could have squeezed the Allen 6 rounder in there,or even made it 4 if necessary. As i said earlier I hope he's been paid. Now he/we have got the promise of Lenroy Thomas on the Haye/Bellew bill. If that falls through,and it may well do,Hearn won't be popular on here with some people. Not that it will bother him. If theres any doubts,why not just make Allen/Little winner to get first crack at Sexton?

It was wasn't an amazing card and the fight was interesting but not that competative when I say saving the card, I mean saving Hearn the dogs abuse(quite rightly) he got from Bellew-Clev 2 and Phil Edwards is taking flack instead.

In the cold light of day the stoppage is just as bad.

This isn't football, where a team can be 5-0 down after 80 mins and have zero chance of winning. This is boxing, Adam Smith himself often trots out the old "one punch can change a fight!", which is true.

This is also HW boxing. The joy of the sport is you can lose every second of every round and still win in the last 30 seconds.

Takam rode shots beautifully all night, including the "finishing" sequence and there was no true justification in stopping it.

He wasn't struggling to hang on or getting battered, it was a tough, hard fight where he'd kept himself in a position to see the last 2 rounds.

You only have to look at a fight like Bute - Andrade to know any fighter can have his arse fall out late in a fight.

I get it 100% if a fighter is just taking an absolute beating, not firing back and just looking to survive but what I saw last night was Takam actually having his best rounds later in the fight, then getting ducked by typically shit, over cautious British officiating.

Joshua himself seems very cautious about his own cardio and what happens if he pours it on (see Wlad fight) so that very finishing sequence was interesting, with Takam slipping and rolling, would AJ have poured it on and risked gassing himself trying to get him out of there?

Maybe he'd have legitimately caught him 3-4 punches later and stopped him? Maybe he'd have eased back off and conserved for the final two rounds? Or maybe he'd have blown his arse out going for a stoppage, not got it and then struggled badly through the last 2 rounds?

We just don't know? But that the whole point, the fight is the forum where we do get to find out! Unless some idiot ref loses his nerve and jumps in.

Find this shit so frustrating, it's pretty much British attitude of trying to apply H&S risk management to every single thing.

It's all well and good to go with that when you didn't get stopped early, stop pretending it's a bad thing for people to enjoy knockouts when you're in the Boxing business and specifically the Anthony Joshua business

Looking at it again,it was a really tough fight for AJ kay the short notice opponent change and the broken nose but I think having fights like this put miles on the clock and where as before I thought he might dominate for years and years I think he might be retired in 5.He still beats Wilder and everyone else that is available that version of Fury who could well beat him will never exsist again imo but with his gas tank and some of his flaws he will have a shorter career then I thought he would.

I think thats harsh considering the problems other long reigning HWs faced early in their careers. Not the best performance from AJ but honestly i expected that because Takam is a very solid fighter and AJ is still massively inexperienced at that level.

He beat Takam, admittedly 12 day notice Takam, way easier than anyone else ive seen. Including Povetkin who had a true back and forth war with him before getting the (legit) stoppage.

Stoppage was BS imo. I dont think Takam was in the fight particularly, but i reckon he was taking Joshuas power and likely makes the final bell. Like others say its a stark contrast the way foreigners get stopped compared to home fighters here.

World title bouts should get international standard refs imo

I love my TV mate,but when that dirge comes on I want to throw the remote at it. LAST weekend in Germany they were playing "Chirpy chirpy cheep cheep" NOT a classic but for me one of those songs that reminded me of a certain time in my life and where I was when it came out.
